Why I photograph a bit of everything
“So what kind of photographer are you, exactly?” I get that question a lot. For years I tried to find a one-word answer. Then I realized I don’t need one.
Every project brings a different challenge. A two-year-old who refuses to stand still. A plate that needs to look as good as it tastes before the chef takes it back. A couple who swears they’re “not photogenic” (spoiler: they always are). That variety is exactly what keeps me sharp. It pushes me to keep learning, keep experimenting, and never switch to autopilot.
One day I’m on the beach photographing a family, the next I’m in a restaurant kitchen chasing the steam rising from a fresh dish. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

A bit of backstory
I moved from Poland to Lisbon in 2016, and in 2021 I traded the capital for Nazaré. I’d dreamed of living by the ocean since I was a kid, and somehow it happened faster than planned. Today I live here with my husband and our two kids, and my office view includes the Atlantic, which still doesn’t feel entirely real.
Getting here took a detour: a master’s in finance, years in banking, and the slowly dawning realization that I’m far more creative than any spreadsheet would suggest. I needed variety, challenges, something unpredictable. Photography turned out to be the answer, which surprised exactly nobody who knew me well.
The finance and social media background stuck with me in a useful way though. I think about images the way brands do: what story they tell and where they’ll live, whether that’s your living room wall, a restaurant menu or an Instagram feed.
Life outside the camera
If I had to describe life outside the camera in one sentence: a campervan parked somewhere in Europe, a meal I didn’t know existed last week, and a camera in my bag. That combination is hard to beat.
We’ve done multiple road trips across Europe in the van, and for the trips that go further, we leave it behind. Japan, Thailand, Iceland, São Tomé e Príncipe. More than 35 countries so far, and every new one adds something to how I see and photograph the world.
Food, travel and photography are the three things I love most. I’ve given up trying to rank them. Luckily, when you’re traveling, you don’t have to.
